A client school urgently requires a SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis to support a student in KS2 who has complex learning needs including autism.

Start and finish times:

8.30am – 3.30pm from Monday to Friday

We are currently looking for an experienced primary SEND teaching assistant for a full time (term time only) job role in an good primary school. The school needs someone who can demonstrate previous success in working with children with ASD and Complex needs. The school strives to provide the best quality teaching and learning with an inclusive and personalised curriculum. The school is passionate about preparing students for life and supporting them to achieve their personal goal.

· Creative – adapt how you support your student to offer the best learning experience

· Sensitivity and empathy – being kind, understanding and respectful of the student at all times.

Dedication - Be passionate about your role in achieving the best outcome for the student/s in your care

Reliability - Be there for the student to offer continuity of learning.

The candidate for this role will be experienced supporting a child with autism who needs that special person to support their learning. The right candidate will have the patience and commitment to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment for the student.   You  may be required to administer personal care at times.

Requirements:

  • A Teaching Assistant Qualification OR relevant SEN Background
  • ASD, Complex needs experience
  • Recent school based references
  • Valid ID documents
  • Full DBS – on the update service or willing to apply for one.
  • A valid Right to Work in the UK
  • Live within easy commuting distance
