A friendly school in Edmonton is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team and support a child in Key Stage 1 on a one to one basis.

The role is a full time position, 8.30am until 3.30pm, from Monday to Friday each week. The pupil has Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.

The successful candidate must enjoy working with young children and be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate previous work with children with Special Educational Needs as well as knowledge of classroom activities and teaching methods.

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of classroom activities and practises
  • A compassionate and positive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities
  • Prior SEND knowledge, ideally confidence with Autism & Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • Confidence in supporting pupils on a one to one and small group basis
  • Observe, record and feedback information as required
  • Be willing to administer personal care

You will need:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or be prepared to apply for one
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the past three years of work experience
