We are currently seeking a committed and motivated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to start in September 2023 in one of our client schools in Enfield, North London.

The role is part time, Monday to Friday (9:30am - 2:30pm) and you will be supporting students who have Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.

All pupils are primary age but most are working below their chronological age, so experience tailoring work for children with Special Educational Needs and engaging pupils who struggle to concentrate and focus would be beneficial.


Requirements:

  • An understanding of classroom activities and practises and the ability to deliver these effectively
  • A compassionate and positive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities
  • Prior SEND knowledge, ideally confidence with Autism & Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • Confidence in supporting pupils in a class (and 1:1 if necessary)
  • Ability to observe, record and feedback information on students academic achievements and behaviour as required
  • Willingness to administer personal care (if required)
  • Ability to encourage student participation and performance
  • Ability to ensure all students personal, social, emotional and mental health needs are met throughout the day
  • Flexibility to work in different classes supporting different pupils as required
