A very friendly client school deemed 'Good' in their last Ofsted, urgently require a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a new Reception student with ADHD and social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

The school is in Edmonton, within walking distance of a train station and close to local bus routes.

The role is a full time position where you will be working from 8.30am until 3.30pm Monday to Friday each week.


The Role

  • You will support the child on a 1:1 basis in and out of the classroom
  • Assist with all work set and help in areas of specific weakness
  • Develop appropriate resources to motivate and encourage
  • Provide continuous positive reinforcement and praise
  • Understand and attend to the the pupils SEMH needs and assist in developing strategies to manage these
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and parents to ensure the pupil progresses in their learning

  • Evidence of working with children with SEND
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to form positive relationships with children and adults
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in order to meet the needs of the child
  • Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the child's welfare
