LTS Group is based in Enfield and we are currently looking for tutors to work on a 1:1 basis, face to face, to support young people with additional needs who are currently not accessing full time education.
Are you a passionate and experienced teacher looking to work with pupils on a one-to-one basis?
Are you wanting to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and help them to progress?
Are you looking for flexible working hours while still having a huge impact on pupils’ lives?
LTS are currently looking for Outreach Tutors to support pupils from 4 to 25 years of age in the North and East London area.
The students are currently out of school and have a variety of special educational needs including:
- Speech, language and communication needs e.g. Autism and Aspergers Syndrome
- Social, emotional and mental health difficulties e.g. ADHD/ADD, behavioural difficulties and Anxiety/Depression
- Specific learning difficulties e.g. Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia and Dysgraphia
The tuition will take place in either the pupils’ home or a local library. You will be teaching between the hours of 9am and 4pm from Monday to Friday each week and it is beneficial to have your own transport as the students may live some distance apart.
Each student requires a different amount of specialised support, from 2 to 20 hours a week. You are able to accept as much or as little as you would like, so this may be the perfect position to suit your current lifestyle.
You will be paid hourly, between £25 and £35 an hour, on a weekly basis and you will be expected to follow the local school term dates, ideally avoiding taking holiday in term time to enable you to build good relationships with your students and their families.
The ideal candidate will be:
- A Qualified Teacher
- Experienced in supporting those with special educational needs
- Dedicated and committed to achieving successful outcomes
- Organised and efficient
- Flexible and patient
- A good listener, respectful and have a good sense of humour
- Creative and able to think outside the box
- Professional and able to demonstrate effective leadership skills
- A good communicator and able to maintain confidentiality
- Aware of various social issues which may impact these pupils and their welfare
We are very keen to hear from those who have previously worked in education, youth work, coaching, mentoring and other similar fields. Although QTS would be ideal, the most important attribute we are looking for is the ability to motivate and engage children and young people in education to help them progress in life. Many unqualified teachers and higher level teaching assistants have excelled in this role with our full support as we have experienced tutors on hand to aid in the delivery of academic material and unlimited online access to teaching materials.
If you are interested in this post and would like to know more please contact us as soon as possible. We have students waiting for support so this role could start as soon as you are ready!
