LTS have been tasked with sourcing an inspiring SEN TA to support a Year 3 pupil in a mainstream primary school.
The school is in the centre of Enfield and is a happy, inclusive and vibrant place to work.
The role is a part time position from 11.45am until 3.45pm, Monday to Friday each week, and will be paid on an hourly basis.
The school are looking for someone who has experience of working with children who have Autism and associated challenging behaviour.
They are looking to appoint someone who is able to build high quality relationships with children to get the best out of them, to make them feel safe and secure and to have high expectations of their learning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To support the pupil on a one to one basis in and out of the classroom
- To assist with a range of educational activities designed to meet the needs of the child
- To work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop strategies to support the needs of the pupil in your care
- To be an advocate for them and understand that all behaviour is communication, unpicking the triggers for their behaviour and ensuring they develop and progress
- To work as part of a team to support the additional needs within the classroom
Skills and Competencies:
- To be able to demonstrate previous work supporting children with SEN and behavioural needs
- A therapeutic approach to behaviour is a must and experience of de-escalating behaviour in a therapeutic manner is necessary
