We are currently seeking a committed and motivated Health and Social Care Teacher to start in September 2022 in one of our client schools in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.

Qualified Teacher Status and experience working with those with Special Educational Needs is desirable, however not essential.

The role is full time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm) and you will be teaching secondary aged students in Year 10 and Year 11.

The school is a mainstream school. However, the classes currently have a number of pupils with Special Educational Needs who are fully supported by a number of experienced Teaching Assistants.

You will be expected to deliver the curriculum in class and differentiate each lesson to ensure all the students, especially those with SEN, progress as expected.

The salary range is between £150 and £200 per day (inclusive of holiday pay).

You will be able to visit the school and spend some time with the pupils prior to interviewing with the senior leadership team.

What will you be expected to do in this position?

• Devise lesson plans based on curriculum guidelines

• Tailor all lessons to ensure those with special educational needs progress

• Lead classes, demonstrate and assign tasks

• Encourage student participation and performance

• Supervise students while they complete tasks and assist with all questions

• Set homework for students to practice their skills

• Assess and report on students academic achievements and behaviour

• Direct Teaching Assistants to support the students in the best possible way

• Ensure all students personal, social, emotional and mental health needs are met throughout the day
