LTS is recruiting Cover Teaching Assistants to support primary schools on a day-to-day basis across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEND).
The Role
As a Cover Teaching Assistant, you will provide short-notice classroom support when schools require additional staffing.
This role suits candidates who are flexible, reliable, and confident working in different school settings.
You will be expected to:
- Be available to be contacted from 7:00am on working days
- Accept short-notice bookings (sometimes confirmed the day before, but not guaranteed)
- Travel to local schools up to 1 hour from your home address
- Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils’ learning, well being, and engagement in the classroom
- Work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff
- Support pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs
- Assist with Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Plans and Personal Care Programmes
- Promote inclusion, positive behaviour, and participation
- Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour
- Supervise pupils and ensure safety at all times
Requirements:
- Availability for a minimum of 2 days per week, Monday to Friday
- Working hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting
- A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Flexible, proactive, and professional approach
Pay & Benefits:
- £90–£93 per day
