Our Recruitment Process

Candidate Screening begins with an initial phone call to determine if a candidate is qualified to continue through our hiring process based on their skills, knowledge and understanding of the job specification.

Interview Process

Once shortlisted, we conduct a face to face or virtual interview ascertaining a candidate’s positive attitude to child protection and safeguarding, their strategies around behaviour management/ being able to demonstrate previous success with SEND students and their coping strategies in challenging situations. All applicants need to be able to communicate effectively and clearly in spoken English. We must evidence original documentation either in person or via our secure portal.

Required Documentation

  • Up to date CV: all gaps in employment must be accounted for.
  • Proof of Identity: A valid passport, driving license, or other government-issued photo ID. 
  • Birth Certificate: To verify your date of birth. 
  • Proof of Address: Recent utility bill, bank statement, or council tax bill. (dated within the last 3 months)
  • National Insurance Number: Evidence of your NI number, like a P45 or P60. 
  • Relevant Qualifications: Copies of your teaching qualifications or relevant certificates. 
  • TRA Check (if appropriate) verifying qualifications
  • Enhanced DBS Check: A Disclosure and Barring Service check, required for working with children.
  • DBS Update Service number: Once registered we will check this every 12 weeks.
  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable) 
  • Right to Work Documentation: Passport or other documents proving your legal right to work in the UK. 
  • Referee details – we require two satisfactory references covering the last five years of employment history. (One must be from the most recent employer)
  • Proof of Name Change (if applicable): Marriage certificate, deed poll, or similar document.
  • Social Media check

Training

All candidates must complete Safeguarding and Prevent training satisfactorily prior to their first assignment.
All candidates must sign to acknowledge they have received and understood the following documentation

  • Candidate Handbook
  • Code of Conduct
  • LTS Safeguarding/Child Protection Policy

Bookings: when confirming each and every booking with our schools, we supply (prior to candidate working) all the relevant safeguarding checks on a one-page Vetting Form, so that you can be assured we are adhering to the highest standards.
N.B. All candidates must show the original copy of their DBS and photo ID at school reception prior to starting work.
